The mother of her, Tina, is of Louisiana Creole ancestry - mainly African and French and has ancestors from Louisiana, and, before that, Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish and has distant Breton and Spanish, Indonesian and Chinese roots. According to reports, she has said that in order to overcome her shyness, she created the stage persona "Sasha".

Dolly Rebecca Parton was conceived in Pittman Center on January 19, 1946. She was born in Sevierville to Avie Lee Parton (a housewife) and Robert Lee Parton (a tobacco farmer).
