Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7th, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III
(a theatre actor, writer, director) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother
and an actress. She has two brothers: Dana Wood, a musician, and Ira David Wood
IV, who has also appeared. Evan as well as her brothers appeared in the Theatre
In The Park, Raleigh and her father is the director. At the age of five she
auditioned against Kirsten Dunst for her lead role in Interview with the Vampire:
The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. In 1996, she
moved to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mother. She has been a star
in television shows as well as feature films and television movies since. Tracy
was her character in Practical Magic (1998) and S1m0ne (2002 Al Pacino's
daughter). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her performance as Tracy
in "Thirteen," which she performed in was nominated from the Golden
Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama and a nomination from
Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By female actors in a
Leading Role. At the time she received the nomination from SAG it was her
youngest actress in the Leading Role category. She earned an award of a Golden
Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a
Miniseries or Movie" for her portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO
mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). Also, she received praise for her strong
performance in the role of Stephanie her character, Mickey Rourke's estranged
daughter, in Darren Aronsofsky's The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of
Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. She is a
professional dancer. She enjoys to sing, ride a horseback, and rollerblade. She
holds a black belt in tae-kwon do. She stays in touch with a lot of her Once
and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
